This summer Victoria ISD will be hosting Summer Bridge and English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) Grit camps to help students in certain courses be better prepared for the next level.
Math Summer Bridge is open to students entering seventh grade for the 2021-2022 school year, who will take Accelerated Math, and students taking Pre-AP Algebra 1 or Pre-AP Algebra 2. Students taking seventh through 10th grade Pre-AP English, AP English Language and Composition, or AP English Literature and Composition can sign up for ELAR Grit Camp.
“These camps help to frontload the instructional concepts that the students will learn in the upcoming year for these courses so that they can be more prepared when the school year begins,” explained Elise Tate, advanced academics director.
The camps are optional but highly recommended.
Both camps will be held face-to-face at Chandler Elementary the weeks of July 19th (Session 1) and July 26th (Session 2). Students attend one of the two sessions. Space is limited. To register, visit bit.ly/VISDSUMMER. Applications are due by April 23, 2021.
